Registration Agreement

Please take a moment to review the rules detailed below. If you agree with them and wish to proceed with the registration, check the box, then click the "Register" button.

1. You must use your common real name as your USERNAME (e.g. "John Smith") when registering.

........ a. DO NOT use an alias (e.g. "Squidgy", "TopGun" or "Glockman").

........ b. DO NOT use an abbreviated name (e.g. "JSmith", "JohnS", "Johnny" or "W.M. Chan").

If you use an alias or an abbreviated name as your DISPLAY NAME, your registration will be deleted without notice.

You MUST register with the email address you have already provided IPSC Ontario.

If you are not familiar with the IPSC Ontario secure area username and password, please email with your name, black badge number (if you have one), and your instructors name.

2. All approved registrations will initially result in you being registered as a "Member". However if our records show that you are also an NROI or IROA Official or Club rep your membership will be upgraded to, in which case you will also have access to the NROI or IROA or Club Rep Members Only Forum.

3. Membership in the Forum is a privilege, NOT a right. Membership in IPSC Ontario does not automatically entitle any member to membership in the Forum.

4. This Forum is not used by all IPSC members, and as such, it is not a reliable means, nor the primary means, for any member to communicate with members, or the Board of Directors. Members may contact Directors either individually, or as a group via the e-mail addresses, the phone number, or the mail address provided on the IPSC Ontario website. As per the IPSC Ontario constitution, any member may attend the AGM (attendance is encouraged), and any member may request to attend BoD meetings. No member who loses their privileges on this Forum is in any way prevented, nor obstructed from communicating with IPSC Ontario Directors or members.

5. No portion of any memberís IPSC Ontario membership is deemed to be payment for access to, or participation in the Forum. The Moderators and Administrators have total say as to which members are, and are not allowed on the Forum. The same rule applies for single posts and threads, and anything deemed by any Moderator or Administrator to be inappropriate will be removed. Members who continue to ignore this rule will be removed from the Forum.

6. This Forum is provided for the enjoyment of members, and for the friendly exchange of information and ideas. It is not necessary (nor possible) to agree with everything that other members post, but discussion must focus on your own opinion, not the merits, motivation, or perceived validity of someone elseís opinion. No member may criticize a person or call them names because they donít agree with them. While debating and discussion is fine, members must respect their fellow members.

7. Members must not flame, bother, bug, disrespect, hound, bait or taunt ANYONE on the Forum or through private messaging (PM). If we feel a thread is getting out of hand, Moderators or Administrators will close or delete it. Members who continue this type of behavior will lose their posting privileges.

8. We will not tolerate personal attacks against, or character assassination of any person, whether or not they are members of IPSC. Personal attacks adorned with friendly Smileys or Emoticons are still personal attacks. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact a Moderator or Administrator via e-mail, via PM, or by clicking the "Report" button below the offending message.

9. No member will use this Forum to post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, hateful, harassing, vulgar, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, pornographic,  threatening, racial, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in contravention of any law.

10. Religious discussion is prohibited in all areas of the Forum.

11. Any member found to be making inflammatory posts and remarks about this Forum on other Forums will lose their posting privileges. If a member flames this Forum, they should not expect to be welcome here.

12. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, and without notice, to edit or delete any post (and to suspend or ban the person who posted it), if and when we decide that such action is necessary. The Forum Moderators and Administrators shall be the sole judges of what does and does not violate the Forumís standards.

13. IPSC Ontario is not responsible for the content of any messages posted, nor do we vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any message. Messages posted represent the views of the author of the message, in their personal capacity, not necessarily the views of IPSC Ontario or of this Forum. Note that "Third Party" posts (i.e. those actually or reputedly made on behalf of other persons), are not permitted and will be deleted.

14. Forum accounts are personal to each member and must not be shared. One person may not use the membership of another person to read comments, post comments and/or to extract (e.g. "cut and paste") comments made here and post them elsewhere. Members who allow their memberships here to be used by others will be subject to suspension or expulsion.

15. No member will post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by that member, or that member has the necessary permissions from the copyright owner to reproduce the material on this Forum. Any violation of this rule will cause the post/thread to be removed.

16. Once posted here, messages become the property of the IPSC Ontario and they may not be reproduced elsewhere without the prior written consent of IPSC Ontario.

17. Double posting is not allowed and can result in the deletion of one or both posts. Double posting is defined as posting the same information in two or more separate sub-forums. We understand that some topics might fit into more than one sub-forum. Members should try to pick the most appropriate one. In addition, members should not post in the same thread back to back (another version of double posting). If they have something more to add they should edit their post, not post twice in a row in a thread.

18. Members should refrain from posting one word (or short) posts, or "Smiley" only posts.

19. Illegal transactions, or the selling of personal information (i.e. credit cards, e-mail addresses), are not allowed in the Forum and will result in the deletion of the post and the revocation of posting privileges.

20. Users must not cross post sensitive information from forums with restricted access to more general forums. For example, it is not permissible to take privileged or sensitive information from say the NROI forum or the Instructors forum and copy/paste it to General Discussion. If you are unsure whether or not a given piece of information is alright to disseminate to a wider audience, contact the Board of Directors for direction. Generally speaking, information posted to the restricted access forums is considered privileged information.

21. IPSC Ontario will appoint members, at their discretion, to be Moderators and/or Administrators of this Forum. Participation as a Moderator and/or Administrator is voluntary. Moderators and/or Administrators may be appointed, or removed at any time at the discretion of the IPSC Ontario Board of Directors.

22. Moderators and Administrators have the final word. If a member has a problem or a complaint, it should be directed to a Moderator or an Administrator. Members must not post their complaint in the Forum. This applies to issues with the Forum in general, as well as issues with other members.

23. Members must not attack a Moderator or an Administrator in the Forum. If a member has an issue with a Moderator or an Administrator, they may contact another Moderator, another Administrator, or an IPSC Ontario Director.

24. Members should not bash our sportís sponsors or vendors on the Forum. If a member has a problem with one of them, they should contact them by PM, e-mail or telephone.

25. While these rules cover most common situations, we cannot anticipate everything. Therefore, we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure the Forum is not disrupted or abused in any way.

26. Adherence to these rules is considered a condition of membership in the Forum. Members who use the Forum acknowledge this. If any member is unsure of, or has any questions about these rules, they should contact a Moderator, an Administrator, or an IPSC Ontario Director BEFORE they participate in the forum.
