Points Claim: 

NROI Ontario is using an online system to record points for Officials.
If you are a current or provisional NROI official in Ontario, you will access the system via this link NROI Ontario Point Claim

Criteria for maintaining National Range Officer status:

  • You must be a current member of IPSC Canada.
  • You must obtain 4 match points a year and have them recorded in the system by Dec 21st annually.  Please ensure you are included on the worker list by the Match Director as this will assist us in not having to manually process your points claim.
  • You must complete the annual NROI maintenance exam which will earn you 2 points 

Level 1 & 2 Seminars: 

Level 1 Seminar Requirements:

  • Must be a current member of  IPSC Ontario
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must possess a valid RPAL
  • Must have competed in 3 Level 2 matches
  • Must be sufficiently fluent in English to be able to read the stage briefing and give clear range commands

Level 2 Seminar Requirements:

  • Must be a current member of IPSC Ontario with the rank of Range Officer
  • Must have been an RO for at least 1 year 
  • Must have worked at least one Level 3 match as a full-time RO

How to become an RO: 

  • Must be a current member of a section in IPSC Canada
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must possess a valid RPAL
  • Must have competed in 3 Level 2 matches
  • Must be sufficiently fluent in English to be able to read the stage briefing and give clear range commands
  • Must have successfully passed the current NROI Canada Level 1 Seminar
  • Must have completed 3 supervised matches post seminar and submit the provisional RO points claim record for review and promotion to RO
  • Complete any additional training requirements as determined by NROI Ontario Section Deputy

How to become a CRO: 

  • Must be a current member of IPSC Ontario with the rank of Range Officer
  • Must have successfully passed the current NROI Canada Level 2 Seminar
  • Must have accumulated a minimum of 32 match points, including at least 15 from Level 3 or higher matches
  • Must have worked at least one Level 3 match as a full-time RO
  • Must have been the Match Director for at least one IPSC sanctioned match
  • Must have at least 3 references from senior NROI Ontario officials with whom they have worked, post seminar.  A senior official is defined as someone who has held the rank of CRO or higher for a minimum of 3 years
  • Must have consistently displayed the aptitude, attitude and disposition required for the Chief Range Officer role, and possess a strong interest in the ongoing development and education of new Range Officers
  • Complete any additional training requirements as determined by NROI Ontario Section Deputy
